When was the last time you actually got really excited about planning out a room? Designing your own bespoke kitchen furniture makes it impossible to not be excited but don‘t just keep this excitement in your head, make notes about your ideas that you can refer back to. Once the initial excitement of the project has started to fade the try to step back from the process a bit and look out how you use your current kitchen this will ensure that areas and features that are valuable to you now aren‘t taken away when you start design your new kitchen space.
Consider putting an island in the middle of the kitchen. This creates visual interest and expands the work space considerably. If designing from scratch, consider locating the stove, oven, and sink in the island. This is a somewhat radical departure from the ubiquitous design of traditional kitchens that puts the stove up against the wall. It is also quite functional, allowing the cook to look out into the room as opposed to gazing at the wall.
Having kitchen furniture fully fitted, so that all the cabinets fit in like jigsaw pieces and are flush with the walls, is standard practice. It is the usual route taken when decorating a kitchen, though not the only possibility. Major benefits include the fact that the kitchen has more space opened up, more storage space, and of course has a tighter overall appearance.
